This article talks about the Green Transition Scoreboard’s recent finding that private enterprise invests hundreds of billions to help continue the growth of the green economy each year since 2007. The Green Transition Scoreboard’s creator hopes to track the progress of the global shift from the Industrial Age to a greener economy and much of that is investment in sustainable and green initiatives.

This document was developed as a guide for local governments to help them create green jobs in their communities. The guide defines what they mean by a 'green job' and then goes on to describe the growing importance of this sector of the economy. The two main sections of this document focus on the development of green jobs and the implementation plans and policies to support and sustain these jobs.
